    In the spirit of the Christmas Season, there will be two Free Christmas Dinners offered in River Ward on Christmas Eve, December 24 hosted by Operation Big Turkey and Councillor Riley Brockington.

    Carlington Recreation Centre, 3:30pm – 5:30pm, 1520 Caldwell Avenue

  • Riverside Park Community Safety Night

    This event will take place Wednesday November 15 at the Riverside Churches, 3191 Riverside Drive, commencing at 7pm.

    The three speakers joining us that evening will be:

    • Office of Emergency Management – How to prepare for a natural disaster, supplies and resources
    • OC Transpo Security – maintaining safety and available resources from OC Transpo
    • The Ottawa Police – crime rates and trends in Riverside Park and Hunt Club, resources available and proactive measures to maintain safety.

  • Current opportunities to provide feedback on City projects

    The City of Ottawa wants your input on the projects, policies, programs and services that affect your daily life. From open houses to workshops and online consultations, your feedback helps shape City decisions.

    • Snow Plow Driveway Markers: until July 20
    The City is formalizing rules for driveway markers used by snow plow contractors following a pilot project. Residents and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback. Comments can also be e-mailed to leslie.charles@ottawa.ca.

    • Property Standards By-law Review: until July 24
    Residents are invited to provide their feedback on possible minor amendments to the Property Standards By-law

    • Marketing of unhealthy food and drinks to children and youth: until August 14.
    Ottawa Public Health (OPH) wants feedback on marketing unhealthy food and drinks to children and youth.

CHARA is a volunteer run community association, funded by community events, private donation, and a contribution from the city of Ottawa to assist with rink operations.
