Development at 1627 Ortona
On August 17, CHARA and several residents appeared before the Committee of Adjustment to object to the development proposal at 1627 Ortona. Despite our best efforts to demonstrate that the proposal does not comply with the zoning bylaw as it not a minor variance and is not keeping with the character of the neighbourhood, the Committee decided unanimously in favour of the developer.
CHARA as a Board is now considering our options, including appeal. In addition, any resident who had standing at the hearing may file an appeal to the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB).
