Notice of Hwy 417 Closure
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) has provided the City with advanced notice of a scheduled full closure of Highway 417 in the Eastbound direction from Carling Ave. to Kirkwood and in the Westbound directions from Carling Ave to Maitland Ave. from 6:00 PM Saturday July 30th, 2011 to 11:00 AM Sunday July 31st, 2011.
· Highway 417 Westbound traffic will be detoured via the Exit 124 off ramp at Carling Avenue to Maitland Avenue and back onto the Queensway.
· Highway 417 Eastbound traffic will be detoured via the Exit 124 off ramp and back onto the Queensway at the on ramp just east of Kirkwood Avenue.
Carling Avenue Eastbound will also be closed from 100m East of Churchill Avenue to the HWY417 Carling Avenue EB off-ramp, from 12:00 PM Saturday July 30th, 2011 until 12:00 PM Sunday July 31st, 2011. Highway 417 Eastbound off ramp at Carling Ave Eastbound will remain open.
· Carling Avenue Eastbound traffic will be detoured via Clyde Avenue, Laperriere Avenue and Kirkwood Avenue.
The full closure of Highway 417 and Carling Ave Eastbound was scheduled to facilitate the replacement of the Carling Avenue Eastbound bridge.
